A day that didn’t lack excitement…

I woke up at 4:30a.m. to go to the gym. I stepped out my front door to find a flood of water coming from around my house and running down the street. I instantly thought of some words Mason said 14 hours earlier… “MOM, I WANT TO MAKE THE HOLE IN OUR BACKYARD (THAT’S SUPPOSED TO BE FOR THE TRAMPOLINE) INTO A SWIMMING POOL”. And I distinctly remember my response was “YOU BETTER NOT FILL UP THAT HOLE WITH WATER!”. And what Mason must have heard was …. “Blah-be-blah-be-blah-be-blah” (You know like Charly Brown’s teacher). Because I ran to the back door to find the hole filled, and the whole backyard flooded! Lovely, can’t wait for that water bill! ANYONE WANT TO COME OVER FOR A DIP???

But the die-hard I am I still went to the gym. We walked in, and five minutes after getting there, my workout partner has a Kidney Stone Attack! Never had one…never wish to after what I witnessed. So off to the hospital we went (30 minutes from our house). After an hour and a half in the ER with her, we had to return home to our responsibilities (kids and jobs) in her car! Seriously makes you feel awesome, not only leaving a suffering person, but in their own car! But we did arrange a ride home for her, and in my defense I did watch her daycare kiddos for her since she was out of commission.

Then we spent the day doing this: Auditioning for hoarders…ok not really…but starting our new floors.

After moving furniture, tearing up carpet, watching extra kids in this mad house, I wanted to quit even when we were this far:

Rich caught me laying on the job!

Our hands are full of splinters, and our knees are bruised from kneeling…BUT IT’S COMING ALONG!

AND YES…I know there’s something off about my curtains. That’s because there’s something off in the reasoning in my head. I bought two different sizes…but once the couch is back in place no one will notice. Well except for all of you that just read this post. Just don’t mention is, I’m already really struggling with it!

He came…he went!

The leprechaun that visited us this year was not as crazy as last year….I think he was trying to respect the Sabbath. Dad and Mom liked that he didn’t tear the house apart. Mom kind of wished St. Patty’s Day fell on a Sunday every year. But the kids still loved it.

We set the trap…and Sadie snuck out of bed to write him this note:

My favorite part “Ear to Ear Smile”

The new trick was she tied green pickles to the back of the trap….clever! But it didn’t work…ugh!

Of course he pooped all over our house again (choc. covered raisins) and we had to follow his poopy trail to the loot!

The best was Mason walked into our room in his sleep and laid down on our floor (just on the carpet) and slept the rest of the night there. I woke up to him saying “WHAT??? HOW DID I GET HERE??? OH, THE LEPRECHAUN  MUST HAVE MOVED ME”. I love it!

Spring breakin at su casa

It was a long….sometimes really fun…. many times stressful….with a little bit of laziness mixed with chill sort of a week. Keeping the kids off of the computer, IPAD, Wii and TV is a full time job. I’m already dreading the heat of the summer and tackling that task once school is out… but I will worry about that when the time comes. Here’s some of the many things we did this week:

Spending the day at the Children’s Museum…
