Rrrrrr…matey!

Right across from the hotel was a marine with some really cool pirate ships!

It was cool to see men up working on the sails!

This battleship was also across from our hotel. Mason thought that was pretty cool!

Our good friends the Harris’ (and Sadie’s crush..haha) pulled up behind us on the street and laid on their horn. They said Hayden starting screaming in the car “There’s Sadie!!!” WHAT A FUN SURPRISE! The bummer was they were just heading out back to Arizona, and we were just starting our vacation! It was still fun to see familiar faces in an unfamiliar town!

Creativity in SD…

We hit up the Children’s Museum in San Diego while dad was in another class.

Why is it that whenever Kendyl paints she gets more on her head and hands than the apron they have them wear. It’s  a mystery!

Give Sadie a chalkboard and chalk and she’s happy for hours…

Same goes for Mason and guns!

Tide pools…

So here’s where we realized that we wasted our money at Legoland. The kids had the most fun at the tide pools at the beach. That’s all they could talk about! They are just like their Daddy…they love finding and holding creatures!

Mormon Battalion..

This was on the highlights of the trip for me. I LOVE IT! AND SO DID THE KIDS! It was free and in the most charming part of old town San Diego.

But getting our kids to want to go in was a struggle. They had just fallin asleep in the car. Sadie rolled out on the ground and tried going back to sleep.

(Side note: And it’s almost impossible to keep track of shoes falling out of the car when traveling…which is why Kendyl’s sportin two different shoes during our vacation)

But once in…they cheered up!

Good morning…

Sleeping all together in one hotel room can get stressful…especially when we wanted to wind down for the night…and they wanted to jump in the beds and play games. But in the morning it was always fun waking up together and seeing their cute faces and hearing little giggles! I hope these two our best friends for life.

Beach? Yes please!

The first day Rich had to go to his conference, we packed up the van and headed straight to the BEACH!

Tag alongs…

This week we were tagging along with Daddy as he went to San Diego to a Veterinary Conference

(BEWARE: Picture overload. That’s how most vacations are though…right?)

P.S. Notice this face! It will be seen constantly throughout our vacation. It’s Kendyl’s new thing. (She can’t help it…. she’s a Reeves).

We pulled in late Thursday night.

We surprised Mason with Birthday Presents and a LEGO CAKE to help announce to him that we were celebrating his 6th Birthday at LEGOLAND the next day!

We asked Mason to take a picture of us (so we can be documented in this day as well). He kept moving the camera and we were laughing as we tried our hardest to lean into his view.

AND JUST F.Y.I….. if ever you are planning on going to San Diego and thinking about going to Legoland…here’s my 2 cents! We had a good time…but not a good enough time to justify the expense. It doesn’t even begin to compare to Disneyland. There were way to many people! They didn’t know how to deal with crowd control or to get people through rides quickly. The rides were lame-o (as you can see here in this picture)…

Sadie and Mason have been too spoiled with crazy Lagoon rides this summer. These rides just weren’t cutting it!

DSC_9170

The rides were very slow and not very exciting. Something to entertain someone Kendyl’s age…yet Kendyl could only ride a quarter of the rides (their height restrictions were so strict). My kids loved the attractions (the park was beautiful, the Lego’s and shows were awesome…but it didn’t make up for the fact that the rides and crowds were ridiculous!)

But all in all we had a fun day celebrating our favorite little boy joining our family…

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY MAS!
